Join NCW Tech Alliance for a special 90-minute combined tour of the WSU Tree Fruit Research & Extension Center (TFREC), and the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission (WTFRC)
The tour will begin at the WSU site led by Chad Kruger, Director of WSU’s TFREC in Wenatchee and Center for Sustaining Agriculture & Natural Resources. Chad will take us on a behind-the-scenes tour of their facility, where we will learn about their Breeding Program (development of the Cosmic Crisp Apple), Entomology, Horticulture, and the Washington Tree Fruit Industry. (Approx 60 minutes).
We will then take a 3-minute walk over to the WTFRC facility where Executive Director Ines Hanrahan and the team will take us on a tour of their lab to share additional information on tree fruit research, diseases, and programs they are currently working on. (Approx 30 minutes)
